Data State Inspectorate of Latvia on September 15 will hold a conference "Personal Data - Future Perspective! 2022".
Conference "Personal data - future perspective! 2022" aims to gather leading specialists in the field of personal data protection from the public and private sector to share their experience on various aspects of personal data processing and protection. During the conference, latest trends in the field of personal data processing and protection in various industries will be introduced, as well as opportunities and risks for personal data processing and protection in the future, will be discussed during the panels.
The work of the conference will be organized in three parallel sessions. The conference will be held in English and Latvian - in six thematic blocks:
• Are cookies coming to an end? yes/no? (LV/ENG)
During the session, participants will discuss cookies and user analysis (profiling): Are there alternatives to cookies? New technologies and tools that can replace cookies.
• “To exist is to change”. Are we ready for a new legal framework on “Digital”? (LV/ENG)
During the session, participants will discuss the interaction of the Data Regulation supervision with other regulatory acts and the upcoming changes related to the new digital legislation package.
• Are the only means to anonymity to wear a mask? Smile, otherwise you won't get into the store! (LV/ENG)
During the session, participants will discuss the use of facial recognition technologies in the public and private sector to find answers to the questions - How do facial recognition technologies work? Is emotion recognition data processing?
• New financial solutions - savior or bane of privacy? (LV/ENG)
During the session, participants will discuss financial identity and customer profiling, the digital euro, whether using the latest technologies in the financial sector gives a person more control and self-determination over personal data processing and personal data processing in FinTech solutions.
• Data protection officer — Controllers ally or overseer? (LV/ENG)
During the session, the participants will discuss the framework of responsibility of the data protection officer in order to find an answer to the question - how to find a balance between the interests of the Controller and data protection requirements?
• The balance between introducing new technologies and ensuring integrity of personal data in the field of health. (LV/ENG).
During the session, participants will discuss technological innovations and the interaction of scientific development with health data protection. Digitization of health data.
