If a person considers that an unlawful processing of personal data has taken place under her or her aegis, custody or under the auspices of him or her, the person shall complete a complaint regarding the processing of personal data (https://www.dvi.gov.lv/lv/iesniegumu-samples). The complaint shall contain details of:
• the applicant;
• a person (institution/organisation/merchant/natural person or other person) who allegedly unlawfully processed the personal data of the applicant;
• the relationship with the person who allegedly unlawfully processed the applicant's personal data;
• the nature of the unlawful processing of personal data by the applicant;
• whether, in connection with allegedly illegally processing of the applicant's personal data, the applicant has targeted a person who allegedly unlawfully processed the applicant's personal data, etc.
The submission shall be accompanied by a copy of documents relating to or indicating the possible illegal processing of the personal data of the applicant.
A completed complaint regarding the processing of personal data shall be submitted to the State Data Inspectorate
